I have been working in animal welfare for 19 years. In 2023, I took over the position as President for Wags and Wiggles. I am always looking for ways to further educate myself to make sure we are helping our community in the smartest and safest way possible. Being a mom to a child with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, I have a soft spot for the medically needy. I have really become interested in taking on more medical cases, especially dogs with orthopedic issues. My role in the rescue is a little bit of everything, but primarily intake and medical/behavior assessing. I personally make sure each dog we adopt is safe and healthy before placing them in homes.
I’ve been a lifelong animal rescuer and advocate. After rescuing all of my dogs I decided it was time to give back to the community that had given me so much. I’ve officially been with Wags since 2021. I started out fostering and ended up in a position to be able to do more. So now I process all of our adoption & foster applications, attend meet and greets when needed, help our fundraising & events committee and really fill in wherever is needed to ensure our rescue runs smoothly.
I first became familiar with Wags and Wiggles when I adopted my dog in January 2020. Then I began my fostering journey in July 2021. I’ve always been an advocate of adoption and have been increasingly more involved over the past year or so with the events and fundraisers. Kind of a Jill of all trades, doing whatever is needed to assist with planning, promoting, setting up, etc.
